This message was distributed to UC Berkeley staff on March 28, 2016.
Dear Colleagues:
We are pleased to announce that we are accepting nominations for staff to participate in the UC Berkeley strategic planning and analysis process announced by Chancellor Dirks in February. Self-nominations are encouraged, and nominations of colleagues who might be interested are also welcome.
There are two opportunities for Berkeley staff to get involved:
1. As a member of the Staff Engagement Advisory Group (who will advise on the portfolio of initiatives) for FY17 (now throughJune 30, 2017); or
2. As a staff member interested in providing periodic input (by way of focus groups, surveys, facilitated discussions, etc.) as work plans are developed.
There are a number of reasons we hope you will contribute to the campus strategic planning work. We believe it will be an excellent opportunity for Berkeley staff to:
- Provide critical input and help define the path forward for UC Berkeley
- Contribute professional expertise and experience as UC Berkeley staff members
- Help formulate effective communications and outreach activities
- Network with senior management and campus leaders
- Meet and collaborate with colleagues from across the campus
- Develop new skills and knowledge to add to your career portfolio.
Nominations must be submitted no later than
5 p.m. on Monday, April 11th, 2016
Supervisors are encouraged to support staff participation and will be contacted in advance to confirm that participation of a staff candidate would not conflict with the operational needs of the unit.
We thank you in advance for considering this invitation to participate, and we look forward to having the benefit of your experience and perspective on this important work.
Sincerely,
Rosemarie Rae
