Peter Chernin oversees three media entertainment entities serving as CEO of Chernin Entertainment, Partner of TCG Capital Management, LP (TCM), and CEO of the Chernin Group, LLC (TCG).

As CEO of the film and television production company Chernin Entertainment, Chernin is responsible for several box office hits, including the global blockbuster features Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes, which together have grossed more than $1.6 billion at the worldwide box office. Additional feature film successes include the Oscar® nominated drama Hidden Figures from director Ted Melfi, the original musical The Greatest Showman, thriller Red Sparrow, action comedies The Heat and Spy, Tim Burton’s Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, drama The Mountain Between Us, adventure comedy Snatched, sci-fi thriller Oblivion, dramedy St. Vincent, and crime drama The Drop. Chernin Entertainment is also producing the upcoming series See and Truth for Apple and previously produced Fox’s hit television comedy New Girl.

Founded in 2009 by Mr. Chernin, The Chernin Group, LLC (TCG) is a holding company with investments in Headspace, Barstool Sports, The Action Network, The Athletic, Scopely, and Stadium Goods

Mr. Chernin co-founded TCG Capital Management, LP (TCM) in 2018. TCM is an investment advisory firm based in Los Angeles and San Francisco, California, which sponsors and manages investments in the media/entertainment, technology, sports, and consumer sectors, including MeatEater, Exploding Kittens, Zola and Dadi.

Prior to starting TCG, Mr. Chernin served as President and CEO of the Fox Group where he oversaw diversified global operations spanning five continents. Mr. Chernin also served as President and COO of News Corporation (1996-2009). Before his 1996 appointment, he served for four years as Chairman and CEO of Fox Filmed Entertainment. From 1989 to 1992, Mr. Chernin was president of entertainment for the Fox Broadcasting Company.

In addition to serving on the Board of Visitors, Mr. Chernin sits on the Board of American Express. He is chairman and co-founder of Malaria No More, a non-profit dedicated to ending deaths due to malaria. He previously served on the boards of Pandora, Twitter, and DirecTV, and News Corp.
