Becca Lopez is the Interim Assistant Vice Chancellor and Chief of Staff to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. With over 17 years of experience in higher education, Becca brings expertise in the student experience, policy application and compliance as well as strategic collaboration across functional areas.
Prior to this appointment, Becca served as the Associate Dean of Students and Director of the Center for Student Conduct at UC Berkeley. In that role, she provided leadership and vision for university responses to critical issues, oversaw departmental projects such as the REPAIR Restorative Justice pathway, ensured campus alignment with changes in systemwide policy and federal and state law related to student conduct and campus safety, and consulted with campus leadership and partners across the university on challenging student issues. She previously held roles at UC Berkeley supporting the expansion of the Center for Support and Intervention, nationally recognized as a model for Case Management. Becca also held roles in Student Life and Residential life at other institutions.
Becca holds a Master of Arts in Student Affairs Administration from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from Hawaii Pacific University.
