About the Office

The Office of the Chancellor at the University of California, Berkeley provides administrative, organizational, strategic, and compliance services to advance the Chancellor’s vision, core values, and priorities. 

ORGANIZATION

The Chancellor’s Immediate Office is comprised of the following departments:

KHIRA GRISCAVAGE

Associate Chancellor, Chief of Staff to the Chancellor; & Chief Ethics, Risk, and Compliance Officer (CERCO) 

Khira was appointed Associate Chancellor and Chief Ethics, Risk, and Compliance Officer (CERCO) in June, 2016. In this role, she oversees UC Berkeley’s compliance, ethics and risk service programs and provides strategic and operating guidance to the Chancellor and campus leadership. Khira’s appointment marks her return to Berkeley as she served as Special Advisor and, later, Interim Chief of Staff for Administration and Finance between 2007 and 2012.

Tim O'Connor Headshot

TIM O'CONNOR

Director of Finance and Business Services

Director of Finance and Business Services, Tim O' Connor is responsible for the Chancellor's Division budget, financial management, and resource strategic planning for our departments  (Audit, Board of Visitors, Ombuds, SVSH Office, Office of Ethics, Risk and Compliance Services, Office of Legal Affairs, Government and Community Relations, and Public Affairs) as well as oversight of facilities management. Additionally, he liaises with our reporting divisions (BAM/PFA, Cal Performances, and Athletics) as needed to provide budget planning support across the Chancellor’s portfolio.

Erin McDevitt, Interim Associate Chief of Staff

ERIN MCDEVITT

Interim Associate Chief of Staff

Erin McDevitt began a full time role in the Chancellor’s Office in December 2022.  As Interim Associate Chief of Staff, she directs operations for the Chancellor’s Cabinet and the external advisory group Board of Visitors, oversees administrative staff in the Chancellor’s office, and serves as a liaison between the Chancellor’s office and student, community and advisory groups. Erin has 13 years of experience with UC Berkeley.  Her previous roles in Berkeley University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) office included campaign planning, support of the UC Berkeley Foundation, and international fundraising and alumni relations.
