Dan Feitelberg joined UC Berkeley in August 2023 to serve as the Interim Vice Chancellor for Finance and Chief Financial Officer.
Like many for whom the University of California is alma mater, Dan's career experience has been shaped through the opportunities afforded as a student and later through his service to the university. Born and raised on the San Francisco Peninsula, he is part of the first generation of his family to graduate from a four-year university, at UC Davis After spending 13 years as a public finance investment banker, helping to provide financing for public projects throughout California, he has since worked exclusively within higher education. In 2012, Dan joined the University of California as the vice chancellor of planning and budget at UC Merced, where he served until 2017. Over the past six years, he worked to provide service to other campuses as part of a higher education consultancy, before joining UC Berkeley.
