Oliver O'Reilly is the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education at UC Berkeley. With decades of leadership experience in teaching, academic planning, and faculty governance, Oliver brings extensive expertise in undergraduate education, student success initiatives, and strategic enrollment management.
Previously, he served as Chair of the Berkeley Division of the Academic Senate and as Associate Dean for Graduate Education in the Division of Computing, Data Science, and Society. He has led major campus initiatives including Berkeley Changemaker, Berkeley Discover, Berkeley Connect, and the Berkeley Collegium, and oversees key operating units such as the Athletic Study Center, Biology Scholars Program, and Student Learning Center.
Oliver holds a BE in Mechanical Engineering from the National University of Ireland, Galway, and MS and PhD degrees in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from Cornell University. A professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Berkeley since 1992, he is an award-winning teacher and accomplished researcher with over 100 published articles, multiple textbooks, and two patents.
