Christine Treadway is the Assistant Chancellor for Government and Community Relations at UC Berkeley. With 25 years of public policy and higher education advocacy experience, Christine brings extensive expertise in legislative strategy, external relations, and public affairs.

Previously, she served as Director of State Government Relations, Executive Director of Government and Community Relations, and Assistant Vice Chancellor at UC Berkeley. Before joining Cal, she was Director of Government and Community Relations at San Francisco State University and Assistant Director of the California State University Office of Federal Relations in Washington, D.C. Earlier in her career, Christine worked on higher education policy in the U.S. House of Representatives, including as Senior Advisor on Higher Education for the House Education and Labor Committee and as Legislative Assistant for the House Subcommittee on Postsecondary Education.

Christine holds a BS in Political Science and International Relations from Montana State University. In her current role, she manages UC Berkeley’s governmental relations portfolio at the federal, state, and local levels, serving as a political advisor to the Chancellor and leading advocacy, legislative, and regulatory strategies.
