Bio/CV:
Janet Gilmore is the Senior Director of Strategic Communications in the Office of Communications & Public Affairs at UC Berkeley, where she has served for over 20 years. She leads efforts in issues management, crisis and emergency communications, and acts as a primary campus spokesperson.
Throughout her tenure, Janet has managed communications around a wide range of complex topics, including student protests, high-profile lawsuits, federal audits, admissions scrutiny, union actions, and police matters.
Janet's early career was in journalism, focusing on legal affairs reporting. She holds a master’s degree in professional communication from DePaul University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from San Jose State University.
