The Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act) requires all colleges and universities that participate in federal financial aid programs to disclose information about crime on and near their respective campuses.

The Clery Act is based on the premise that current and prospective students and employees are entitled to accurate, complete, and transparent disclosures about campus crime and threats to their personal safety, allowing them to make well-informed decisions about where to study, work, and live. As a campus, we wholeheartedly agree with that charge and have taken numerous steps to strengthen our compliance efforts.

In an an emergency, please call 911 immediately. On campus, you can also call the UCPD emergency line at (510) 642-3333 or use the blue emergency light phones.

If you are deaf, hard of hearing, have limited speech capabilities, or cannot safely call 911, please use the Text-to-911 (use the text feature on cellphone).

Notice of Availability:

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act, the University of California, Berkeley publishes an Annual Security and Fire Safety Report. This report includes current campus security policies plus crime and fire statistics for the previous three calendar years. It also contains contact information for various campus and community resources related to crime prevention, reporting resources, and survivor assistance.
